….and people who don’t care, is indicated by their actions. President Obama and his predecessors from both sides of the aisle would reach out to the families of fallen soldiers without much fanfare. It was just something they did. It was not necessary to contact the press first. In fact, the public usually didn’t learn about the action until after it was over and then probably only as a mention.
President Trump did it differently. He waited until the public chastised him for not calling the families. He proclaimed that none of his predecessors called the families either. That was a lie. And then he announced to the world that he would be reaching out to the families. Once all of the spotlights were focused upon him and he was the story, only then, did he reach out to a few of the families of fallen soldiers. And then he proclaimed that he did it better than any of his predecessors. Another lie.
In my humble opinion, I believe that Trump’s actions clearly demonstrate that he just doesn’t care about the fallen soldiers or their families. I believe that the only thing he really cares about is himself and how much publicity he can garner. Sad.
